I have only five photographs from my own childhood, and perhaps because of that, I became determined to document my children’s lives to hold onto the ordinary, fleeting moments that become precious with time.

When they grew older and no longer wanted a camera following them, I wanted to understand photography more deeply. I began taking black-and-white film photography classes, learned to develop and print my own images, and eventually built a fully equipped darkroom in my home.

For me, photography has never been only about making an image. It is another form of storytelling, a way to preserve memory, notice what might otherwise disappear, and give shape to the stories we carry.
