If I am not on a stage telling stories, I am often working with others to find the courage and language to tell their own.
Through programs such as Yoni Ki Baat, I have helped create space for South Asian women to explore identity, culture, silence, family, and the stories we are often taught not to tell. In Healing Through Writing workshops, I work with participants to use memory, reflection, and personal narrative as ways to better understand themselves and the experiences that have shaped them.
I believe finding your voice is not always about becoming louder. Sometimes it is about finally giving yourself permission to name what happened, to claim your own perspective, and to tell the story in your own words.
Storytelling can connect us to others, but it can also reconnect us to ourselves.
